Příruba je obvykle vyrobena z měděného pokoveného niklu nebo stříbra. Odporový substrát je obvykle vyroben z oxidu berylia, nitridu hliníku a oxidu hlinitého, potištěného v závislosti na požadavcích na napájení a podmínkách odvodu tepla.
Přírubové zakončení, stejně jako zakončení s vývody, se používá hlavně k absorpci signálových vln přenášených na konec obvodu, k zabránění odrazům signálu od obvodu a k zajištění kvality přenosu obvodového systému.
Přírubové zakončení se vyznačuje snadnou instalací ve srovnání s patch rezistory díky přírubě a montážním otvorům na přírubě.
